Dark Heart
Oh, my heart,
you’ve become shrouded in darkness.
My heart, my heart
It is hard to see and find my way.
Spirits of abuse, betrayal, selfishness, unforgiveness, pride,
ambition, jealousy, each have made their deposit.
Each has tentacles that poison the well of my being.
I cry out, “give me a new heart God”. Show me you are above the rest.
Is your passion like fire, like mine used to be?
Do you exceed as some say?
Do you repair the broken hearted?
I feel warmth!
Is this warm light, your fiery breath – is that what I feel on the embers of my soul?
Can you exhale into the sacred dust of my sleeping almost lifeless home?
Would you make mine your own?
Like the smallest cloud in an empty sky, my mustard seed, that is buried in darkness, knows now that love might win!
Come Love, give Mercy, Abba Father!
Send your champion, who retrieves the hearts of the lost.
Here I am – come find me! I am trapped!
I long to live – breathe your life into mine!
Your passion is fire, holy and healing. It burns the shells of yesterday’s failures and injuries. Consume and heal I cry!
Your victory is your Glory in this battle of life and death!
I am being made new!
And you say, “you’ll never leave, never hurt, always love.”

The Dark Heart is a painting inspired by the awareness that no one escapes woundedness in this fallen world. I gathered scripture that I felt a connection with. Please compare the lines of verse to the text.
The words of scripture are more than “wise” words they have a supernatural power as they are God breathed. For instance, in Isaiah 61:1 we read how Yeshua, (Jesus), declares he has come to fulfil this scripture and are now being fulfilled, he says,” The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”
He wants us to be healed! For our part faith is a key component – believing that Christ came, and we desire for him to make our wounded heart his home. This passage is from the book of Ephesians, chapter 3, verses 17 – 19.
17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

There are so many verses and promises that are waiting for you to make your own! Here is my capstone from Colossians 3: 12-13
12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and [a]patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
Have Hope and safeguard it, it’s a gift. Become Hope for others. Wounded hearts must be healed, it is the starting point that organically connects to Joy which becomes our strength. Reach out to us, we care for you! Reach out to God, he loves you more than you can imagine!
